Dr. Raffaele Teperino

Dr. Raffaele Teperino has led the Environmental Epigenetics Research Group at the Institute of Experimental Genetics, Helmholtz Munich, since 2015. His research investigates how parental environment and metabolic health reshape germ-cell and non-germ-cell signals at conception and program offspring physiology, with expertise in sperm RNAs, mitochondrial biology, early-embryo metabolism, epigenomics and mouse metabolic phenotyping. His group combines mechanistic animal studies with human cohorts and multi-omics approaches to identify pathways linking pre-conceptional exposures to disease risk.
