MEDIculous REMeDy offers 15 fully funded doctoral positions through the European Union's Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Networks program. Bringing together 12 host institutions and 18 associated partners from academic and non-academic organizations across 12 countries, the network provides an outstanding interdisciplinary and intersectoral training environment for the next generation of precision medicine researchers.
Start
Doctoral candidates are expected to start their positions between June and October 2027, depending on the recruiting institution and local procedures.
Duration
All positions are fully funded for 36 months through the MSCA Doctoral Networks program under Horizon Europe. Any extension beyond the initial funding period is subject to the regulations and available resources of the respective host institution.
Salary
Doctoral candidates receive a competitive MSCA salary package, including a monthly living and mobility allowance, as well as a family allowance where applicable. The exact salary depends on the host country's MSCA correction coefficient and individual eligibility.

Who can apply?
We welcome candidates of all backgrounds and nationalities, who fulfill the requirements of the MSCA Doctoral Networks:
Applicants must not yet hold a doctoral degree.
Applicants
must be eligible to enroll in the doctoral program at the respective host institution.
Applicants must not
have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) at the host country for more than 12 months in the last 3 years prior to recruitment. This excludes holidays, compulsory national service or time spent as part of a procedure for obtaining refugee status under the Geneva convention.
The secondments mentioned in the project description are mandatory training elements within MEDIculous REMeDy. Applicants must be willing to travel for secondments and for Network Training Events across Europe approximately twice per year.
Applicants must be proficient in spoken and written English.
Applicants
should demonstrate strong motivation for metabolic health research and enjoy working collaboratively in an international and multidisciplinary environment.

How are applications assessed?
At MEDIculous REMeDy, we are committed to a fair, transparent and inclusive recruitment process, in line with the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. All applications are evaluated through an Open, Transparent and Merit-based Recruitment (OTM-R) using standardized criteria to ensure consistency, objectivity and equal opportunities throughout the selection process. We actively promote an inclusive environment and welcome applications regardless of gender, nationality, age, religion, sexual orientation or disability. The applications are assessed according to the following steps:
1. Eligibility screening
The project coordination team verifies that applicants fulfil the MSCA eligibility criteria and the admission requirements of the respective host institution.
2. Independent application review
Each eligible application is independently evaluated by three MEDIculous REMeDy project leaders. Applications are assessed using standardized evaluation criteria covering academic excellence, scientific motivation, research aptitude, independence and future impact.
3. Virtual interviews
The highest-ranked candidates are invited to give a short online presentation of their previous research, followed by a structured interview with the project supervisors to evaluate scientific aptitude, motivation and suitability for the doctoral project.
4. Final selection
The final ranking is based on the written application and interview scores. Successful candidates receive an offer from the recruiting institution, while additional highly ranked applicants are placed on a reserve list in case positions become available.
