Training program
Equipping Researchers to Advance Precision Medicine for Metabolic Diseases
Bringing together leading universities, research organizations, small and medium-sized enterprises, global drug discovery partners, patient and public organizations from across Europe, MEDIculous REMeDy provides an outstanding training environment for doctoral researchers tackling the future challenges of metabolic disease research. The combination of interdisciplinary and translational science with international and intersectoral collaboration enables doctoral candidates to develop scientific excellence, strengthen their computational, leadership and transferable skills, and gain first-hand experience across academia and industry. Supported by a personalized career development plan, our researchers are empowered to conduct world-class research, collaborate effectively across sectors and translate discoveries into tangible health benefits for society.
The pillars of the training program
Integrating life sciences, systems medicine and clinical translation to address the complexity of metabolic diseases.
Interdisciplinary research
Building experience across countries and sectors to foster innovation and accelerate the translation of research into healthcare.
International collaboration
Developing advanced skills in artificial intelligence, multi-omics integration and data science for precision medicine.
Computational expertise
Strengthening transferable, communication and leadership competencies to prepare researchers for diverse career paths.
Leadership skills
Supporting every doctoral candidate through an individualized career development plan tailored to their professional and personal goals.
Personalized development
The MEDIculous REMeDy Training Program brings these five pillars to life through local doctoral training, seven network-wide training events (NTEs), international secondments, e-learning and personalized career development. Each 3–4-day NTE combines scientific, computational, transferable, cross-sectoral and career training, while career sessions with experts from healthcare, industry and other sectors provide insights into clinical translation and diverse career paths. International secondments in academic or industry settings further develop interdisciplinary, intersectoral and technical expertise.
By the end of the MEDIculous REMeDy project, doctoral researchers will:
