Dr. Thomas Klarić

Dr. Klarić leads the Neuroglycobiology Research Group at Genos and is an internationally recognised expert in the field. His research is focussed on understanding the role of carbohydrates and glycoconjugates in brain function and how dysregulation of these molecules contributes to diseases affecting the central nervous system. An experienced investigator with almost 20 years of research experience, Dr. Klarić has worked in world-class institutions across three different continents (Yale University, U.S.A.; Adelaide University, Australia; Genos Ltd., Europe) encompassing both academia and industry. He has been the recipient of several prestigious postdoctoral fellowships, including the Fulbright fellowship in 2018 and the NEWFELPRO fellowship in 2014. He has co-authored 22 peer reviewed research papers and one book chapter (PubMed) and his publications have attracted over 450 citations (i10-index = 16; H-index = 13; Google Scholar). He has extensive experience mentoring junior colleagues and is currently supervising one PhD student. He also has considerable experience in leading research projects and managing teams in large international consortia, including three currently active Horizon Europe projects.
